What started out as a great force in social media, Facebook is starting to have a bad reputation. Recently, it has been known that Facebook is posting false advertisements as well as stories just to attract Facebook users. With the increasing usage of technology, children are starting to become the number one victims to clickbait and advertisers; it has been confirmed that Facebook has been behind these issues, posting false stories that spreads virally and onto other social networks.

With so many users around the world, people are starting to doubt Facebook as analysts uncover evidence of data issues and faulty data. Not only just misleading facts, but also the advertisers are using the advantage to check Facebook users’ profiles to find their interests to sell similar products that they would buy. A stark contrast from the beginnings of Facebook, Facebook’s reputation is becoming more known as the “surveillance website,” targeting users with ads based on monitoring them.

Recently, Facebook’s Russia problem is seen as evidence of Facebook’s poor security. Facebook executives have denied the fact that Facebook is a black hole filled with made-up stories. However, that doesn’t put the people at ease because of how false information spreads quickly in all social networks.

There are doubts whether Facebook has several mistakes but people are wondering if it’s a simple mistake that can be easily ignored. Facebook has a lot of questions that need to be answered and although Facebook may just be trying to say a message to the world, people are still questioning whether these messages can be trusted or not.
