Prom is the Final Hurrah

The tough season of AP exams has passed and seniors are graduating. For many students, prom was a highly-anticipated last hurrah.

Conducted by the Crescenta Valley High School Associated Student Body, a recent Facebook poll of students from four area schools showed that students think prom is important. According to Arcada High senior Kevin Lee, “Prom is sort of the last checkpoint for seniors before we graduate. After prom, there is not much to do as a student anymore.”

Prom is the sign of an important life chapter coming to an end. Crescenta Valley senior Noel Wong explains, “Prom is the last chance… to embrace high school and everything that has come with it.”

Students who aren’t seniors are also looking forward to future proms. Grace Tappin, a Glendale High sophomore, says, “Hearing accounts of other peoples’ experiences only gets me more excited.”
