Is Apple Adding Color?

Apple, Inc. has an event scheduled for September 10 during which many observers believe it will announce two new iPhones, the iPhone 5S and the lower-priced 5C.

ABC News published leaked information about the iPhone 5C, said to be a smartphone that could be affordable and competitive outside of the US. The 5C appears to have a plastic rear cover instead of the aluminum glass cover of the previous iPhone generations.

According to Josh Lowensohn, staff writer of CNET News, the primary difference of 5C and 5S is that the 5C will lack Apple’s Siri application and feature different colored rear covers. The default colors consist of red, yellow, green, blue and white.

It is uncertain, however, that the new phone will find consumers in the US.

“I make close to $56 per week at [the cafe] I work at.” stated Amy Liu, 19 year old college student. “I still carry a 2G phone, and even though the 5C price is pretty low, it isn’t worth it. The quality of it looks cheap; I’d rather wait and save more [money] to buy the [Samsung] Galaxy S4.”

“I got my iPhone 5 a couple months ago,” said David Lee, a college student at UCLA, “Nothing is changing, except the phones just get stretched and smaller.”
