Congratulations to everyone admitted to the new session of Joongang Student Reporters (JSR). Over the past few semesters, our students have developed strong writing, researching, and interviewing skills and the JSR section has expanded from one weekly page to a three-page section and a thriving website.
The program is proud to welcome a talented and passionate batch of new reporters from around Southern California and in such far-flung places as Korea and New Jersey. We’re happy to retain such a dedicated staff of continuing reporters, and we’re ecstatic that all of our excellent editors from the last session have re-applied as editors again. This semester truly has the potential to be the best session of JSR yet.
If you are on one of these lists, you are expected to attend orientation at the Korea Daily (690 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles) on Saturday, July 19 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. You have received an email with this information and an attached RSVP form.
There is a new position on the JSR staff: Editor in Training. Editors in training will be assigned to groups headed by Senior Editors, who will work with them to prepare them for becoming editors. Editors in training will be eligible for promotion to editorial roles mid-semester; more information about that will be made available during the orientation.
