Members of the Spartan team have expressed their excitement.
While the official season of cross country has not started, dedicated athletes from the La Cañada High School cross country team have been steadily practicing for the upcoming season.

“We’ve all been pushing really hard through the summer,” Junior Tait Ryssdal told JSR. “Coach added a few new meets this year before league competition starts… so we’ll have more under our belts this season than we did at this time in previous years.”

These athletes been working from the beginning of the school year by running several miles daily.

Colleen Mispagel, the captain of the girls’ team, commented, “We have been training by running at 6 A.M. everyday and by doing an altitude training camp in Big Bear lake.”

She also mentioned that there are many new runners that will help the team for this upcoming season.

Ethan Angold, a captain for the boys’ team, told JSR, “Coming into my second year as a captain for the boys XC team, I’m excited to see incoming freshmen runners because they bring a new energy to the team. I think the new members, along with the practice we’ve put in over the summer, will help us advance this season!”
