FBLA is a nationwide organization that strives to teach students the values and knowledge required to become future business leaders. The organization holds three different levels of conferences: Section, State, and National. At the conference, students can take tests on over 40 different topics ranging from Hospitality Management to Accounting. The ones who get the five highest scores in their categories get to go to the State Conference, which will be held this year from April 9-12 in Santa Clara.
The Southern Section Conference invited over 10 schools, and in addition to test-taking it was a time for students to connect with other individuals who aim to mature into professional business leaders.
Troy FBLA is the largest student run organization not only in its school district but also in the whole Southern Section. Its sheer size allows Troy FBLA to send more students to participate in more categories, giving it an advantage in total rankings over other FBLA clubs.
Students claim that Troy students are also quite motivated.
David Park, a member of the Troy FBLA, stated that, “Troy has many resources for us to study, and most of us are motivated to study and win in our categories.”
Troy FBLA Senior board member Ryan Kawano told JSR, “All of our members want to win and they study hard; that is all there is.”
