“The fatal shooting of a black man by a police officer during a traffic stop fit a longstanding pattern of disparate, unfair and even violent treatment of black people,” Minnesota’s governor said Thursday, shortly after millions of people watched a man bloodied and shot recorded by the victim’s girlfriend and made live moments after.Gov. Mark Dayton asked, if this situation would’ve happened if the driver was white, and sadly they say that, I don’t think it would have. Mr. Dayton heard from many black people that, “how they’ve been pulled over, singled out” while if it was a white person that it would not have turned out like that.

Mr. Dayton asked the Justice Department to investigate into 32 year old Philando Castile’s death, who died hours after the department took over the investigation of the case.

The mortifying encounter took place on a Wednesday at Falcon Heights Minnesota. The multiple shooting that occurred shortly after this event finally broke loose the chains that were holding the protests back. Everywhere people were bringing to light that not just blacks but other races and all races mattered. All Lives Matter.

“You put four bullets in him sir” exclaimed Castile’s girlfriend who was in the car with him. His four year old daughter was with them in the back seat of the car. Blood started to stain Castile’s white shirt on his sleeve and around his sternum and his left rib cage. Officer St. Anthony tells Castile to keep his hands visible in an agitated voice. As police officers take Reynolds and her daughter into the police car she says, “Please Jesus, no. Please no. Please no, don’t let him be gone.” Later, her fears were confirmed by the Hennepin Medical Center when her fiance was announced dead, a week and a half before his birthday.
