Cresskill High in Wonderland

As children, everyone has dreamed of a Wonderland at least once in their life:

a castle full of flowers and trees, a place where sadness does not exist, or another world where aliens live.

Growing up, it remains a curiosity. Does “Wonderland” really exist?

The answer is yes, there is a place that gives dreams to children and memories to adults: Disney World.

This year, Cresskill High School choir and band members had a wonderful opportunity to perform at Disney World. Although going to Disney World was tough, with 23 hours of travel by bus, all of the students were excited to be a member of the Disney performance and get to see the famous theme parks.

Disney World, with four theme parks – Hollywood Studio, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom – was built in 1972. It is 100 times bigger than Disneyland and twice a size of Manhattan, New York. The blisters on the students’ feet were not a surprise because of Disney World’s titanic humongous size — it takes an entire day to look around just one of the theme parks.

The most well known theme park out of the four is Magic Kingdom, where Cinderella’s Castle is located.

In an interview with JSR, one of the junior band members, Jimin Han, said, “I think I am blessed that I can make good memories with my friends before we graduate. Also, when will I ever have a chance to perform in Disney World?”

Coming back to Cresskill on March 20th, students had to return to their ordinary lives. The 5 day Disney trip was like an oasis to students, who are tired of studying and the stress of preparing for college.
