Here in California there are many iconic places to visit and there are many places that can make this summer an unforgettable and fantastic break for students, leaving them wanting more.

One of the unique tourist destinations to visit is Solvang, a European themed city located in Santa Barbara County that boasts Danish styled shops and streets. People can shop at small boutique stores and ride multiple rental wheels to sightsee around the entire town with family and friends. Ostrich Land, a place that is family friendly, hosts many ostriches, emus, and chicks. Children can have fun by feeding the animals food and taking pictures with the animals. Families can also visit one of the twenty one missions built in California, Old Mission Santa Ines.

Going north, another classic destination that everyone can visit is San Francisco. With crowded city vibes and a nearby ocean, it is a city where people from all over can thoroughly enjoy. Some of the most popular tourist destinations include the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, and Fisherman’s Wharf. Known for cable cars and chilly weather, many tourists enjoy the weather unique from the regular hot California climate. Spending the day by Pier 39, tourists can enjoy a warm chowder bread bowl and look over the busy ocean filled with sea lions.

Lastly, a tropical destination that matches perfectly with the summer weather is Palm Springs. Known for the luxurious hotels, hot springs, and huge windmills, this desert city is a perfect destination for someone who wants to enjoy the summer heat to the fullest. Families can enjoy their day by the cold pools or have fun at The Living Desert, a zoo that shows animals who live in the desert, such as camels and hyenas. Joshua Tree National Park is also a fun way to spend the day, such as hiking and looking at the exhibitions places around the park.

Even though it isn’t listed here, there are plenty more places people can visit in California as a family or with friends such as San Diego or theme parks in Los Angeles.  The places listed are just some places that families can consider while they are on summer vacation. Many of these cities have family friendly attractions that are fun for everyone in the family. Stopping by one of these cities can make this summer an unforgettable and unique summer break.
