A medical student walked 3 miles on hands, setting world record, and raising funds for charity.

On June 26 around 9 AM, a Florida resident by the name of Ashwin Kalyandurg, a 22 year-old senior medical student at Nova Southeastern University, decided to do his greatest feat to benefit many people.

He walked 3.17 miles on his hands at the Pledge-Per-Step Challenge in Boca Raton. Ashwin finished his accomplishment at around 5:10 PM

This took him eight hours to complete his stunt, surpassing the former 2002 Guinness record by 100 meters although he took breaks along the journey. In return, he raised funds for Eat Better Live Better, The Unicorn Children’s Foundation, The Pediatric Oncology Support Team and End Polio Now.

How did he do it? Endless practice.

Two months prior from the event, he practiced by climbing palm trees, walking up and down parking garage ramps on his hands, and push-ups.

Ashwin also did the same feat at Nova Southeastern University to fund the American Cancer Society walking around for about 12 hours to complete the charity.

Afterwards, he said, “Everything is in pain.” He also promised to refocus in his studies because he has, “[his] board exam to become a doctor next week.”
