As the weather gets warm, the summer makes people excited. This is also when different kinds of concerts, celebrations and cultural programs open. In 2015, there are going to be a number of music festivals in Korea.

The AnSan Valley Rock Festival, from July 24 through 26, selected as one of CNN’s Top 50 Rock Festivals in the World, is the biggest. The 2015 event will be held at Ansan Daebu Sea Breeze Theme Park, which at about 40,000 square feet is similar in size to six soccer fields, from July 24-26. Fans can see Korean artists Jang KiHa & the Faces, Daybreak, GoGoStar, and Peppertones along with international acts such as Rudimental, Foo Fighters, and Deadmau5.

“I’m definitely going to get tickets with my friends for some of the festivals! I’m interested in the AnSan Valley Rock Festival because my favorite artists, like Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and One Ok Rock, are attending,” said Cheshire Academy senior Jack Yang.

Another festival, the Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, was started 2006 by Incheon State. As it has been 10 years since the first opening of the festival, the 2015 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival will have a bold headliner. The first line up, announced March 24, contains Britain’s the Prodigy and the Kooks along with Japan’s Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas. In addition, Yellow Monster, 10cm, and Wind City will be there.

“Last year, when Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas visited Korea to perform, I was not able to see them and became so mad. I thought the band will never come to Korea again. However, I’m so glad [there will be a] concert this year. I wish I really can get to the concert this time. I started to save my money from last month,” said fan Steven Chae.
