Alex Ngac, a senior at Woodbridge High School, has pursued his interest of screen printing and molded it into a profitable business called Okay Streetwear.

“I learned how to print tee shirts in screen printing club at my school. From there, I wanted to try to make shirts that people could wear and not worry about what others thought of them,” he said.

When the school screen printing club disappeared, Ngac was undaunted. He continued to design clothing, turning to his garage when the school could not provide him with a printing press. From there, time and effort led to Okay Streetwear.

Okay, which offers designs for both guys and girls, is spreading fast through the Irvine Unified School District.

“It’s very trendy and it has become mainstream in our school. It’s one way that Woodbridge has shown support for one of its warriors,” said Tiffany Yu, a student at Woodbridge High School.

Since the establishment of Okay Streetwear, Ngac has also has been reaching out through his shirts. For example, he distributed clothings from his company for free to the homeless in Newport Beach.

The company is still growing and adding on new designs for both sexes. As a graduating senior, he hopes to go beyond Woodbridge High School and expand Okay Streetwear  to other cities.

“I hope to continue this through college. Maybe one day, you’ll see my clothing in stores!” says Ngac.
