A Week with City Impact in the Tenderloin

Summers are typically filled with many different activities including taking time out to volunteer. City Impact is San Francisco allows high school students to join them in their efforts to help and interact with the homeless for a week. This time usually results in the expanding of horizons for young adults as they understand the realities of homelessness and also understand their privileges in the world.

It seems as though calling 911 has become an antiquated trend when it comes to emergency response systems. They say that with the growth technology, calling 911 has lost its effectiveness because they aren’t keeping up. Location accuracy, the time it takes for emergency responders to actually respond can be seen as only a few of the flaws. Is there a possible solution? Some are coming up with innovative ideas but their implementation will take longer than one would necessarily expect. What is left then of our 911 system is still unknown but hopefully in time, it will be revealed.
