Conspiracies: True or False?

Posted on June 6, 2017June 28, 2017 by Jino Chough

People consider conspiracy theories and those who believe them to be a small sector of people in society with overactive imaginations or too much time on their hands.  Those who believe in conspiracy theories are also lumped together with people who seemingly live in a separate universe and create fan fiction etc.   Conspiracy theories…

Saturday Night Live’s Mockery Provides Comedic Relief

According to Nate Cohn of the New York Times, President Donald Trump assumed office with the lowest approval ratings ever in telephone surveys performed by Gallup.  More recently, however, after the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Trump’s approval rating was at an all-time nadir at 38 percent.  For all other presidents, though, approval…

Posted on June 22, 2016June 29, 2016 by Jino Chough

They say that with the growth technology, calling 911 has lost its effectiveness because they aren’t keeping up. Location accuracy, the time it takes for emergency responders to actually respond can be seen as only a few of the flaws. Is there a possible solution? Some are coming up with innovative ideas but their implementation will take longer than one would necessarily expect. What is left then of our 911 system is still unknown but hopefully in time, it will be revealed.

Nobody Knows the 1988 Olympics

Posted on May 9, 2016May 6, 2016 by Jino Chough

The 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea was a landmark event and was considered a great success. However, there is a darker story behind such an epic event. About a decade before the Olympics, the South Korean leadership rounded up “vagrants” from the streets and held them captive in a group home in order to keep them off the streets. These “vagrants” were held in inhumane ways and it was hidden behind the veil of “cleaning the streets”. These events are still considered unjustified.
