As COVID-19 became a part of our lives, many things, including traveling and meeting friends, were restricted. Activities were very limited until coronavirus restrictions were lifted due to the vaccine being available and many people getting their COVID shots. Our family, similar to other families who were stuck in our house for about a year and a half, was desperate to travel and meet old friends. So, we planned a 10 day trip to Georgia to meet friends there and make meaningful memories as a result.
During the 10 days there, spending time with friends, there were some outstanding memories made for me. One of such was visiting Six Flags Over Georgia. Going to one of the biggest amusement parks in the state was such a great experience, but visiting it with friends was even better. Six Flags Over Georgia has 40 rides, including 12 gigantic roller coasters. We had so much fun riding and screaming on them, with “Goliath” being one of the best rides I have ever gone on in my entire life. Six Flags also had many different cafes and snack bars that we could visit and eat when we were exhausted from riding the humongous roller coasters. The amusement park included so many amazing shows and exciting fireworks that flashed in the night sky towards the end of our visit there. Visiting Six Flags over Georgia was one of the best decisions we made, and gave me the chance to make some great memories with my friends.
Another memory made was visiting the pool in our friend’s neighborhood almost everyday. Even though visiting the neighborhood pool may not sound as much of an exciting experience as visiting Six Flags, it was still memorable. We would visit the pool a lot, since we weren’t going outside to visit places. Rather than staying home and being on our phones, the pool was a great place for us to go and hang out. It was neither special nor big, but it was still a great place for us to spend our time and have some fun. We would go there during the hot afternoons to cool off in the nice cool water and play some games there. During the nights, the pool was a great place for us as well, since we could spend time talking with each other or just swim alone.
The ten day trip to Georgia went by so fast, especially since I had such a great time. It was such a great visit, especially since me and my family needed something after a long time quarantining. Spending time with friends in Georgia for 10 days was a fun experience and I hope I can visit again when COVID-19 is a distant memory.
