Murders in London Result in Longer Police Patrols.

Posted on July 15, 2019 by Rachel Lee

The murders of at least four people in London have worried the citizens. During a course of 4 days, four men have been murdered. Sky News states that an eighteen-year-old was stabbed to death in Wandsworth, Eniola Aluko was shot dead in Plumstead, a man died after a stabbing in Tower Hamlets, and another died in a stabbing in Stratford.

An uprise in murders in London has caused much panic to not only the citizens but to the mayor, Sadiq Khan. He says he is “incredibly concerned” and puts blame toward cuts in police resources. Therefore, more police are working hard for the men who have been murdered.

A massive investigation is being held by London police. According to Fox News, Scotland Yard, the headquarters of the London Metropolitan Police, states “that while police have made a significant number of arrests, officers are following up on additional investigative leads to ensure that we achieve justice for the families of those affected by violence in the last few days.”

An 18-year-old Mohammed Nadir Dafallah and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with murder after the Wandsworth attack. They are due to appear in court later. Four others, ages ranging from 16 to 19 has been released under an investigation and a 20-year-old man is in questioning after being arrested.

According to the Denver Post, “The British capital is being shaken by a spike in deadly violence, much of it involving young people with knives caught up in gang feuds.” Many people are in disbelief as they witness more violence in the area. Citizens should be extra careful when walking alone and if possible, should walk in a group of people. Even though police are investigating the rise of violence, people should be cautious when near the places where the killings occurred. In order to avoid violence, it is key to be careful and pay attention.
