Ambitious students are always looking for more opportunities to talk to colleges and ask questions. The Annual College Fair exists specifically to meet the needs of those students.
Held on October 26th at the Glendale Civic Auditorium, the GUSD Annual College Fair featured representatives from a variety of colleges and universities. Some of the more prominent colleges included Harvard College, Cornell University, Stanford University, and Columbia University. Downstairs, students were also able to speak with representatives from various UC schools such as UCLA and UC Berkeley.
People from miscellaneous companies and associations were present as well. The “Financial Center” spokesperson discussed financial aid with parents and counseled them on managing money for college. There was also the Walt Disney Company, which managed to grab people’s attention by showing the different techniques involved in creating an animation.
As expected, an overwhelming number of people in the auditorium were juniors and seniors. Students and parents were able to talk with college representatives and ask them personal questions. The majority testified to having had a productive and helpful time as they left with pamphlets in their hands.
“By speaking with the representatives one-to-one, I was able to gain insight into not just the academics of a college, but also the surroundings and its social life,” junior Eric Kim said.
The Annual College Fair provides many opportunities to learn about new colleges and certain career options: a must visit place for aspiring students.
